My favorite holiday accessory is my Christmas Stocking. That's why, several years ago, I began to make special stockings for myself and my family that we could enjoy filling with fun surprises to be enjoyed upon waking Christmas morning.
Artfully crafted, I design and hand craft each stocking with wool and wool products from small family farms, thus supporting the shepherding heritage I've come to love & appreciate.

THE PROCESS
Your stocking begins as a fluffy ball of wool roving which I make by hand into a felted stocking right here in my studio. I then select some lovely raw wool which comes straight off the sheep (it is shorn wool, therefore causing no harm to the animal) which I hand felt into a lovely cuff. I blanket stitch the cuff to the stocking and apply a hand braided wool loop so your stocking can be hung & enjoyed all season long!
FIELD GRASS

Although I spend a great deal of time removing bits of hay, straw, etc. from each fleece, it is impossible to remove it all. These are real sheep living their best life out in the field and some sheep have virtually no vegetative matter while others are chuck full! Therefore you can expect to find remaining bits and pieces of hay & field grasses in the completed design. Organic... hatural... simply beautiful!
